1. During ActiveX Installation, Install
Now button does not seem to work for Internet Explorer?
Your Internet security settings may be on "High". This will
prevent ActiveX controls from running. To install the QEngine
Toolbar, you must have ActiveX controls enabled. To do this, follow these
simple steps:
From your browser, select Tools > Internet
Options
Click on the Security Tab
Click on the Internet icon in the window
Change security setting to Medium
Click OK
Note : If you are using default MSI installation by clicking "Download
Toolbar" button, then above solution is not applicable.
2. During ActiveX Installation, In Windows
XP I'm prompted
with a "Security Warning" dialog which says
"Windows has blocked this software because it can't verify the publisher
Name: CustomIEComp.cab
Publisher: Unknown Publisher"
Follow the steps below to install the toolbar.
Click on "Unknown Publisher" in this
dialog.
In the "Digital Signature Details" panel
click on "View Certificate" button.
In the "Certificate" panel click on
"General" tab and click "Install Certificate . . ."
button.
This will bring up the "Certificate Import
Wizard" Click "Next" and "Finish" button and
Confirm the "Security Warning" by clicking "Yes" button
inorder to
install the certificate.
Click "OK" on both the panel and again
click "OK" to close the dialog.
Now again Click "Install Toolbar" button
in the page and click "Install" in the security warning dialog
to install the toolbar.
3. After ToolBar Installation, I can't find
my toolbar in the browser, how do I make it appear?
Close all the opened browsers, Restart it again
Click the View menu inside Internet Explorer
Click the Toolbars menu and you should see the
QEngine Toolbar item there
If the QEngineToolbar
item is not checked, click the item to place a check by the item and the
toolbar should now appear.
If the toolbar is still not visible, click on
the Tools menu, then click Options, then click the Advanced tab and verify
the "Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart)"
is checked. This options is available only in Internet Explorer 6.x and
higher. If you check this option, please restart your browser.
Verify that Active Scripting is enabled in Internet
Explorer with the steps below:
Select "Tools" > "Internet Options"
> "Security" > "Custom Level" > Scroll down
to "Active Scripting" under the category Scripting." If
the option "Disable" or "Prompt" is selected, please
click "Enable." You should now be able to install the Toolbar.
If you are unable to move the toolbar, make sure
that toolbars are unlocked to allow the movement. Right-click on any toolbar
and make sure the Lock Toolbars option is unchecked.
4. Can I hide/show QEngine
Toolbar in Internet Explorer? To hide Toolbar, click on QEngine.drop
down button and select hide toolbar.
To show , access your browser's "View > Toolbars" menu
and check the "QEngine
Toolbar" option.
5. How do I uninstall
the QEngine
Toolbar for Internet Explorer?
You can click the QEngine
Drop Down of the toolbar and select 'Uninstall
Toolbar'.
If you face any difficulties in the above step, you can use the 'Add
/ Remove Programs' feature on Windows Control Panel. You'll find a program
entry for 'QEngine
Toolbar'. Click the remove button of QEngine Toolbar entry to uninstall
it from your computer.
6. How do I reinstall the QEngine
Toolbar for Internet Explorer?
Uninstall
the existing toolbar by clicking Uninstall
toolbar option present in the QEngine Toolbar menu. Restart the browser
and navigate to the home link (For example, "http://localhost:8080")
. Install the Toolbar. Restart the browser again.
7. Does using the QEngine
Toolbar compromise my privacy?
We consider your privacy seriously. The QEngine
Toolbar does not transmit any information except the normal information
that is transmitted whenever you visit any Web site. For example, the
toolbar does not collect information regarding your name, address, e-mail
address, phone number, etc. When you install the toolbar, you install
only the toolbar. No other software is installed.
8. Toolbar download not working :
If you are connecting QEngine
server through firewall.
Please check your firewall
blocking the file(.msi)
download. Contact your system administrator and ask him to get the file.
While downloading, if you get the "Security Dialog" which says
"Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded",
please check the following settings in the Internet Explorer:
Go to Tools->Internet Options.
Select "Security" tab.
Select "Custom Level"
Under "Downloads", Please check "File
download" was enabled, Otherwise enable the same.
9. Toolbar downloaded successfully, But asking
for Repair/Remove?
QEngine
toolbar may be already installed in your IE
browser.
Select the "Remove" option. Click "Finish"
Close the UI.
Invoke the file again or try to download the file
again , Now you will be able to install.
10. Toolbar installed Successfully, But toolbar
not visible?
Go to View->Toolbars, Check QEngine
Toolbar is enabled.
If it is enabled, But not selected, Please select
the same.
If it is not enabled, Please Go to Tools->Manage
Add-ons...
Check the status, If it is Disabled, Select the
same and make enabled.
11. What is the system requirements for QEngine
Toolbar?
Yes, you can install QEngine
Toolbar in the following operating systems and browsers:
12. QEngine toolbar is not enabled in IE after connecting to the QEngine Server. Only "Connected" button is enabled.
Clear "Cache" and "Cookies" of the browser and restart and connect to the browser.
13. "Install Toolbar" Div shown eventhough toolbar is already installed in IE7 in Windows Vista.
Solution: Invoke Tools->Internet Options and goto "Security Tab" and uncheck "Enable Protected mode" and then restart IE browser and then connect to QEngine.
14. QEngine struck with Detecting toolbar page and does not proceed with connection.
Open Windows Task Manager and kill all IEXPLORE.exe process under "Processes" Tab. Now launch a new IE browser and connect to QEngine.
15. If IE browser enabled with enhanced with high security settings, then it may not display the page properly.
Add the http://<server host name>:<port> to the "Trusted Sites" through File->Add this site to-> Trusted sites
It will prompt you dialog to add the site to "Trusted Sites". Complete adding the site to "Trusted Site".
Then under "Security Tab" in the "Internet Options" window choose "Trusted Sites" and click on "Custom level" and enable all the activeX related settings.
And restart the browser this will properly navigate to the required page with QEngine toolbar connected to the server.
16. Toolbar is not shown in the Internet Explorer even after installing the toolbar in IE 7 ?
You should enable third party browser addon in the Tools. Follow the below steps to enable the QEngine Addon,
i) Goto Tools->Internet Options
ii) Select Advanced tab
iii) Check the check box for "Enable third party browser extensions".
iv) Save the settings and restart the internet explorer browser.
v) Now you should be able to see the QEngine toolbar and will be able to record / playback.
